ONE LITTLE LIE. A WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE.
Moments after meeting the most gorgeous guy ever, Gabby Winters promptly gets stung by a zillion yellowjackets and falls-not gracefully-into a stream. Yup, Ethan Hunter is trouble with a capital “hot,” and Gabby definitely needs to keep her distance. Except in the small town of Haven, there’s nowhere to hide from Ethan’s sexy, infectious grin . . . and all the residents are conspiring against her.
At the center of the town’s matchmaking is Ethan’s grandmother, who’s convinced their relationship is a done deal. Rather than break her heart, Gabby and Ethan find themselves cornered into pretending to be falling in love. The problem: there’s serious sizzling attraction between them. And if this charade continues, they won’t fool just the entire town – they might fool themselves too . .
Gabby Winters leaves Charlotte, North Carolina to get away from a bad relationship. She rents a house in the small town of Haven, works from home and pretty much keeps to herself. Ethan Hunter, Olympic gold medalist with a bad boy reputation and hot temper opens an extreme adventure facility, Off-the-Grid-Adventures with a couple of friends.
While hiking, Gabby falls off trail and runs into Ethan. She has no idea she is on private property, owned by Ethan, nor does she know that she has just stepped on a nest of yellow jackets. Ethan is attracted to her immediately and insists that she let him take her to the local clinic to help with the stings.
Their lives start to intertwine but things are not all wine and roses. They make a commitment to each other that is not quite above board, Gabby’s boyfriend shows up out of the blue, and Ethan’s business is at risk due to over worried council members.
This book is a quick and easy read. The characters are likable and I found myself pulling for them throughout the book. Gabby and Ethan have experiences in their pasts that play a huge role in and affect their relationship. Run to You by Rachel Lacey is a perfect weekend read for those who love romance novels. I love Lacey’s Love to the Rescue novels and think this new series will give it a run for its money.
