The Marriage Lie

Everyone has secrets…

Iris and Will have been married for seven years, and life is as close to perfect as it can be. But on the morning Will flies out for a business trip to Florida, Iris’s happy world comes to an abrupt halt: another plane headed for Seattle has crashed into a field, killing everyone on board and, according to the airline, Will was one of the passengers.

Grief stricken and confused, Iris is convinced it all must be a huge misunderstanding. Why did Will lie about where he was going? And what else has he lied about? As Iris sets off on a desperate quest to uncover what her husband was keeping from her, the answers she finds shock her to her very core.

The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle is fabulous!  It’s completely unpredictable and then when you get to the last page, OMG.

Iris and Will have been married for seven years and one day.  Her friends still tease her that the marriage blahs are right around the corner, but she disagrees.  They’ve actually decided it’s time to make their first baby.  Life is great.

The day after their 7th anniversary, Will has to travel to Florida for a work conference where he is the keynote speaker.  So, when a plane heading to Seattle from their local airport crashes Iris is taken aback and freaked out for a few minutes, but, Will is headed in the opposite direction.

The airlines have a different story.  According to them, Will was one of the passengers on the flight to Seattle.  Someone is wrong.  Will wouldn’t lie, or would he?  Distraught and grieving, Iris has to get to the bottom of this.  What does it mean if the airlines are right?  Has everything in her life been a lie?

This book is flawless.  The writing is gorgeous, the characters are intriguing and intense and the storyline is edgy and filled with suspense.  I read this book from start to finish in one sitting because I could not put it down.  I had to know what was going to happen next and was not disappointed.
